THE CHALLENGE
As a world leader in aquatic and pool care products, Zodiac has grown by acquiring a number of companies over the past several years. It has operations spread across USA, Europe, South Africa and Australia and the company has seen rapid business growth over the past few years. Due to the acquisitions, Zodiac had to deal with managing a number of different systems that were used by each of the companies. This was a challenge for the IT group because it was difficult to provide group wide integrated information to management. It was getting costlier to managing a range of disparate systems at each location. Zodiac also realized that existing applications were home grown, disconnected and were not supporting business growth and acquisitions.

THE SOLUTION
The requirement for standardization across companies to stay in tune with leading technologies resulted in Zodiac choosing the Oracle E-Business suite. The plan was to standardize business processes using Oracle e-Business and roll it out to all the locations. Zodiac realized that this was a large IT initiative which required expertise in functional and technical areas. The internal IT department needed to partner with an IT service provider with experienced functional and technical experts. Another important criterion for Zodiac was for the service provider to provide operational support once the Oracle E-Business systems were rolled into production at the various locations.
